Armed with a simple SLR camera loaded with film, and a fixed 50mm lens attached to front, I shot and manually exposed these images the old fashioned way whilst on my travels.
The challenge of shooting this way i.e. manually focusing the camera and metering reminds me to pay proper attention to what I am actually photographing, therefore paying further attention to framing and exposure, so as not to get into the habit of shooting and hoping for the best, an approach which can very easily be adopted when shooting digitally, where the potential of frames seems limitless.
I love digital photography, but am sentimental about film, as this is where I started out, and so every now and then I'll pick up my old SLR, embark on a project, and then wait for the negatives to be processed, the anticipation of which I kind of enjoy.
